Events of Parihaka

I think Te Whiti and Tohu were inspirational people because they tried to help imprisoned men in the South Island even though Te Whiti and Tohu would be in danger themselves. The reason Te Whiti and Tohu stood up for non-violence was because they knew they were right not to fight. I  the Europeans  had no right to kill the Maori for something they owned, and the Maori did the right thing not to fight even though heaps of their tribe got killed.
